Kellie Martin, the American actress and filmmaker popularly known for her roles as Christy Huddleston on the period drama "Christy", Rebecca Thatcher on the family drama Life Goes On> and Lucy Knight for the medical drama ER. Other notable roles include her title character in The Hailey Dean Mystery series. Martin was born to a department store seller and a kindergarten teacher began her professional career in acting when she was seven when her aunt who served as an nanny for actor Michael Landon's children was able to help Martin to get her a character in the 1982 series "Father Murphy". When she graduated of Yale University she began to take acting seriously and landed roles on the smaller screen as well as on the big. Apart from being an actor, Martin is also a talented photographer as well as a ballet dancer. Martin is the mother of two and the official spokesperson for Lupus. Following her 19-year-old sister's death, Martin has worked to spread awareness of the condition.
